Siesta Key is Spectacular!

Last summer, I was expecting my third baby and was already a mother to 2 toddlers. My husband and I decided to take a family vacation despite knowing a “vacation” would involve some work. After researching areas within driving distance, we decided on Siesta Key because of all of the positive reviews from other travelers. What a wonderful decision! We stayed directly on the beach in a small studio condo for a full week. The beachfront location was a little more expensive, but well worth it! We could step out onto the most gorgeous white sand beach I have ever been to. And the sand never gets hot! That was ideal for young children. They could run, play with, and bury things in the sand without ever burning their feet.
Just be sure to bring an umbrella if going in the summer, because the heat is intense. The water was wonderfully warm. The intensity of the waves varied by day, and changed according to the weather. Florida can get some intense storms during the summer months, which can create some choppy surf conditions. But the longer we stayed the more comfortable our daughters felt in the water.
The town of Siesta Key has some great little restaurants and shops, and a wonderful public beach as well. We raved about our vacation to our extended family – who decided to all come with us on our family vacation back to Siesta Key this coming summer!
