I love St. Pete Beach at Sunset!

There are no sunsets more beautiful than the ones viewed through the palm trees on St. Pete beach! Gazing out west, over the Gulf of Mexico, you will see the sky filled with deep reds and blues and purples.

My favorite memory is from childhood, with my family at the beach after a long day in the surf. Coolers still filled with ice and sodas, portable radio softly playing the hits of the '60s, and towels wrapped around salty and sandy bodies, we watched the waves crash on the beach as the sun went down. We curled up in our towels on the sand to rest and share the adventures of our day with each other. Experiencing dusk on the beach was like having a great color-splashed blanket slowly lowered over the world. Watching it happen deeply hushed our small group. Seeing the colors disappear into the growing darkness, we gazed on as the spot of sun glowed a deep gold over the horizon. This darkening scene accentuated the sound of the waves rushing up the beach, and quieted us even more.

Once the sun had set, we noticed a small chill on our skin, and ran to the warmth of the car. But, we would never forget the sight and sounds we’d just experienced together.
