Dog Beaches in Florida ... Sometimes You Just Get Lucky!
Dog beaches in Florida can found everywhere, sometimes when you're not even looking. It goes something like this… Hubby and I are on the beach, soaking up the sights and sounds. Beachcombers are searching for that perfect shell, sandpipers are scurrying on the shore in search of their next meal, and surfers are trying to catch the perfect wave. And then it happens… a tiny, cute little fur ball appears right in front of us. As she slides down a mountain of sand to get to the beach, we both let out one big Awwee!
At that moment I realize that I have found another dog beach in Florida!
That cute little beach babe was Muffin, and her owner was nice enough to allow me to take a few pictures. As you can see she is lovin’ the beach life!

You’re probably asking by now, where is this fabulous dog friendly beach? It is the great little beach town of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. There are 13 miles of amazing beaches in Nassau County, Florida that allow leashed dogs. That includes Fernandina Beach, the Beaches of Amelia Island and America Beach.
Muffin says “this is one of best dog beaches in Florida!”

When Muffin comes to visit she can stay at the Florida House Inn right in the historic seaport village of Fernandina Beach or… right on the beach at the Amelia Oceanfront Bed & Breakfast. You can find them both at www.floridahouseinn.com.
There are many great places for you and your pooch to stay, and lots to do! For more info visit http://ameliaisland.com/. So, if you’re driving down I-95, get off the busy highway, and head to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. You and your dog will be glad you did!
